WeTab available at Media Markt stores from September

Berlin (Germany) – August 12, 2010 – At its sales launch in September, the WeTab will also be available in stationary markets due to a partnership between WeTab GmbH and Media Markt formed for this purpose. The electronics chain will be including the tablet computer in its assortment, selling the WeTab at its retail outlets throughout Germany. Helmut Hoffer von Ankershoffen, Managing Director and management spokesman for WeTab GmbH says, “We are happy that fans and consumers will be able to experience the WeTab live at the stores of our partner Media Markt. As the tablet computer provides a completely new user experience, it is important for many customers to have tried out the device before buying.” Initially, the WeTab will be sold in Germany, to be followed by other countries later.

Models and prices
Media Markt will be stocking both WeTab models. The WeTab with 16 GB memory and WLAN will be entering stores at a basic price of 449 Euro. The WeTab 3G, which will be retailing at 569 Euro, has a 32 GB memory, shows videos in HD and, in addition to WLAN, is also able to communicate with the world via 3G. Both models have an 11.6-inch touchscreen and can use several applications at the same time.

Openness and software
The WeTab stands for openness. Users, media providers and application developers should face as few hurdles as possible and have a great deal of freedom when choosing software and connectible devices. The WeTab OS operating system, for example, supports Flash, Adobe AIR applications and apps that have been developed for the open operating system Android. In the WeTab Store, apps and media from various stores have been brought together especially for the WeTab.

Target groups and application options
